If you’re a coffee lover, then a coffee machine can be one of those kitchen appliances that is one of life’s little necessities. If you’re NOT a coffee lover, then you might think that previous statement is a little bit over the top. Try telling that to a coffee lover!!
There are many different types of coffee machine that you can get your hands on which makes selecting the right one for you (and one that will deliver the coffee you want when you want it) difficult. Among the popular machines available, then you won’t go far wrong when sticking to the main brands such as the Bosch Tassimo, the Gaggia line, Krups or De’Longhi.
Each of these companies produce coffee machines of the highest standard (depending on what you want, obviously – but more of that later). Whether you’re look for a traditional bean to cup coffee machine where you put the beans into the machine and let it do it’s stuff, or you’re looking for something a little more convenient and which uses coffee pods to deliver your caffeine hit, then you’ll be sure to find what you’re looking for among these companies.
Personally, I’ve always opted for convenience as I find nothing better than falling out of bed, stumbling into my kitchen, throwing one of the many type of Tassimo Pods available into my Bosch coffee machine and having to only press one button to have my coffee delivered and see me enter the living world. Others might be different and prefer the fresh blend that only a true bean to cup machine can deliver.
But this is an important point to consider if, like me, you want the convenience that a machine that uses coffee pods. There are a number of different coffee producers who make their own coffee pods – but these pods don’t always work or fit every coffee machine on the market. So when looking at coffee machines, take a look at the line of coffee pods that they work with and see if that particular blend is up your alley or not.
On a general level, you’ll find something called Easy Serve Espresso pods are used by a number of machines. These, as alluded to, are a general all purpose type of coffee pod that tend to work universally across the board (for instance, some of the Gaggia line of coffee machines use ESE pods). Whereas Dolce Gusto pods can be used in De’Longhi coffee machines.
As mentioned above – I have myself a Bosch Tassimo machine and they tend to exclusively use Tassimo pods which, to me at least, offer a great range of coffees to enjoy – including replicas that come from the Costa coffee shop which, I’ll admit, are my favourites.
Whatever you decide up with your coffee, you’ll find a coffee machine out there that will match your tastes and wants exactly, and when you see the coffees available – some of which you might not have heard of before – and at different strengths – you’ll wonder why you never made the plunge into the coffee machine world much earlier in your life.
